TANGO WITH BUENOS AIRES

TANGO WITH BUENOS AIRES

The next morning, we go to the airport to go to Argentina. And we are in Buenos Aires, which means "nice weather" in Spanish. The weather here is winter, so it's a bit cold.

With the architectural resemblance to Spain, we feel like we are in a city of Europe. It is a cultural city with its museums, universities, libraries, monuments, wide squares full of sculptures ...

We do a panoramic city tour with our guide Soledad. We pass by the 9th of July Boulevard, which is one of the world's most extensive boulevards. Then we see Casa Rosada (Pink Building), which used to be the Government House in the Plaza Mayo (May Square), name of which given from the May 25, 1810 Revolution in which the struggle for independence was given. It is the place where Eva Duarte de Perón (Evita) made the famous “balcony speech”. We are touring San Telmo, which is the oldest region of Buenos Aires. Then we see the stadium of the Boca Juniors football team which has presented the famous football star Maradona to the football world, which we can call Fenerbahçe of Argentina with yellow navy blue colors. Between the Boca Juniors and River Plate soccer teams, there is a subject matter of a similar competition between FB and GS football teams of Turkey, or even more.

It is a very common way of earning income here that a dog sitter on the road is walking with 8 - 10 dogs at the same time.

Here we go to La Boca, where Italian and Spanish immigrants first settled. The houses are colorful because the settlers benefit from the remaining paint from the shipmen. We are taken photo with fake Maradona in front of these colorful houses. In this bohemian region we pass through places like art street; even watch a little tango show presented for us

We are watching Argentine cowboys' Gaucho dance right after. While watching the dance, we also taste the famous "mate" teas. It's a green tea-like drink; but more a smokey-like taste and drunk with a pipette. We even learn that according to Argentinian traditions, during the asking for the girl’s hand in marriage, if the girl does not drink mates it means she does not like the boy.

After La Boca, we go to the port district of Puerto Madero. Here we learn that Madonna who acts in "Evita Musical" also bought a house. There are many nice restaurants and cafes in this area. We decide to have dinner in this area. At the restaurant overlooking the river we taste famous beef of Argentina.

The last stop of our tour, the Recoletta Cemetery. The graves here seem to have come from the hands of a sculptor. We also visit Evita's family graveyard here.

In the evening, we have "cortado", a kind of espresso, in Cafe Tortoni, which has a history of 150 years. After we got out of the café, we do not pass without tasting the famous street delicacies as "garrapinada" (caramelized peanuts).

We choose the place called "La Ventana" for the night tango show. It's a stylish place. We learn the simple tango steps before the show, and then we watch the dance of love, passion and lust accompanying music of "La Comparsita". "The cheapest way to travel to the stars..." says Lucretia Borgia for the tango. Really, this fascinating dance is affecting us, too.

In the morning, we go to Avenida Florida, which resembles our Istiklal Street. After a short stroll, we take Messi uniform as a gift. The prices here are quite reasonable. Of course, if you do not mix pesos ($) signs with dollars J You might get a little confused at first sight because the symbols of these currencies are similar.

After a short river tour, we go to a restaurant where a variety of open buffet meals are served for dinner. According to the common concept here, you can eat as much meat as you want at a standard price. You can also choose which part of the animal you want to eat, from the pictures on the card presented to you.

After the days visiting the city in high spirits, we are leaving this city with the wish to visit again someday.
