THE LAND OF DREAMS: AMERICA – 3

After our trip in Central Park, we set off to go to Brooklyn from the subway station next to our hotel. First, we travel to the Jay Street station from the Street Herald Square station. Since this station is far away, we go to the High Street station from there. Especially, the subways in this area looks older.

The Brooklyn Bridge was built in 1883. Since it is very crowded, it is better to go early.

We can sit and watch forever this bridge, which has been a visual material for many films. While we are walking on the bridge, the Statue of Liberty is waving to us from the left.

After crossing the bridge on foot, we want to see the famous "Brownstone Houses". The feature of these houses is that they consist of attached houses made of red brown stone. We take lots of pictures here.

On the way back, we get on the subway at the same station. We go through line A. We get off at Fulton station and arrive at the 9/11 Memorial. The Memorial is located near the World Trade Center.

A monument was built in place of twin towers destroyed on 11th September, 2001 by an attack, one of the turning points in the world history and the names of those who lost their lives were engraved on the stones there.

In the evening, we go to the Shake Shack hamburger chain across our hotel and try "gofor" made of beef.

As it is very close to our hotel, we go to Times Square once again in the evening. This place, the heart of New York, is more lively and sparkling in the evening with its moving billboards.

The next day morning, we go to Brooklyn again. Thanks to the carousel in the amusement park located next to the bridge, we go back to our childhood time.

We go to famous Harlem by using line A once more at the High Street station. We get off at 125 Street for Harlem.

We're wandering around downtown in Harlem for a while. Then we stop by famous Apollo theater. It was built in 1914. Celebrities like Jimmi Hendrix, Gladys Knight, The Jackson 5 and Diana Ross began their career here.

After Harlem, we go back to our hotel and prepare for our departure. It is useful to make a little warning about the airport. J.F.Kennedy Airport is very big, so it is better to go early. In addition, we should state that a tax determined by that state is added to each price here. When coming to the airport, we pay an additional 20-25 % tax, although it costs 52 dollars.
